Nurse Extern

As a Nurse Extern, you will develop your nursing skills through a partnership with an experienced Registered Nurse while gaining hands-on experience in direct patient care at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, West Virginia.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will:

• Collect comprehensive assessment data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health and situation
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and issues
• Identify expected outcomes individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation
• Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
• Implement the identified plan
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes

Throughout all responsibilities, you will provide an extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care, and clinical excellence one patient at a time.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with nursing fundamentals in lab and/or clinical setting as evidenced by completed nursing fundamentals skill check-off
• Ability to perform light work, including frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Associate's Degree (preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
