Nurse Extern

As a Nurse Extern, you will develop your nursing skills through a partnership with an experienced Registered Nurse while gaining hands-on experience in direct patient care. This position offers the opportunity to apply nursing fundamentals in a clinical setting under close supervision and mentorship.

Clinical Setting

This position is located at Mon Medical Center Main Campus in Morgantown, WV.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will:

• Collect comprehensive assessment data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health and situation
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and issues
• Identify expected outcomes individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation
• Develop plans that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
• Implement the identified plan
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes
• Provide direct patient care with a focus on extraordinary patient experience and clinical excellence

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completed nursing fundamentals skill check-off
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to perform light work, including frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs, with a maximum lifting capacity of 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree
