The opportunity
Job Description
Broward Health North is seeking a Nurse Extern to provide basic nursing skills and care on the Medical/Surgical unit. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will deliver patient and family-centered care while developing clinical competencies in a healthcare setting.
Position Type
- Pool, night shift
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
- Perform phlebotomy
- Perform EKG
- Provide basic nursing skills to support quality patient outcomes
- Work collaboratively within the patient and family-centered care model
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in a BSN program with completion of at least the third year, OR enrollment in an Associate Nursing program with completion of at least one year of the nursing curriculum, OR enrollment in an accelerated nursing program in the final year
- BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting
