The opportunity
Job Description
Broward Health Coral Springs is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Medical/Surgical unit on the night shift in a pool position. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will provide basic nursing skills and care within a patient and family-centered care model.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care for patients
- Perform phlebotomy
- Perform EKG procedures
- Provide basic nursing skills to facilitate quality service outcomes
- Support the nursing team in delivering patient and family-centered care
Education
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with completion of at least the third year, OR
- Enrollment in an Associate Nursing program with completion of at least one year of the nursing curriculum
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting
