Nurse Extern - Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

This position offers nursing students the opportunity to gain practical clinical experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will work with critically ill patients and develop foundational nursing skills in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient vital signs
• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Assist with patient feeding and nutrition
• Transport patients as needed
• Conduct hourly rounds to monitor patient well-being
• Create a comforting and secure environment for patients and visitors
• Perform patient care duties based on the needs of the patient population

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of Nursing Fundamentals course
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
