Nurse Extern - Intermeidate Care Unit - Methodist Mansfield

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Intermediate Care Unit. This position is designed for senior professional nursing students to gain expanded clinical experience while assisting the Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities.

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide excellent patient care. You will participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, while reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation
• Report significant observations to Registered Nurses
• Perform patient care activities under RN supervision
• Communicate clearly and openly with the healthcare team
• Build collaborative relationships with team members
• Take initiative for professional growth
• Contribute to improving the patient experience

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a senior in an accredited professional school of nursing
• CPR certification on hire, or successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider course during probationary period
• No prior work experience required
