Nurse Extern - Intermeidate Care Unit - Methodist Mansfield

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Intermediate Care Unit. This position is designed for senior professional nursing students to gain expanded clinical experience while assisting the Registered Nursing staff in providing patient care.

Clinical Setting

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is a 294-bed, full-service acute-care hospital serving North Texas. The hospital is certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke and Heart Attack Center by The Joint Commission and holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The facility features advanced technology, patient-centered design, and comprehensive services including Level III Trauma, NICU, and Maternal Care.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation
• Perform patient care activities under the supervision of Registered Nursing staff
• Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse
• Communicate clearly and openly with team members
• Build collaborative relationships with the multidisciplinary team
• Take initiative for professional growth
• Contribute to improving the patient experience

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a senior in an accredited professional school of nursing
• CPR certification on hire, or successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider course during probationary period
• No prior work experience required
