Nurse Extern - Intensive Care Unit

Join Henry Ford Health's Rochester campus as a Nurse Extern in the Intensive Care Unit. In this role, you will provide patient-centered care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, supporting the nursing team in delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients. This position offers valuable clinical experience while you advance your nursing education.

Clinical Setting

The Rochester campus is located in northern Metro Detroit in one of Oakland County's historic communities. You will work in the Intensive Care Unit, providing care to critically ill patients in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision
• Provide input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures
• Participate in continuing education to enhance your nursing skills and knowledge

Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Contingent position

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, OR currently enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program with completion of two clinical rotations
• Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of two clinical rotations, including one in Med/Surg (acute care setting)
• Current Health Care Provider Certification

• Previous experience in a critical care setting
