The opportunity
Job Description
Broward Health North is seeking a Nurse Extern to provide basic nursing skills and care on the inpatient rehabilitation unit. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will deliver patient and family-centered care while assisting with essential clinical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
- Perform phlebotomy
- Perform EKG
- Provide basic nursing skills to support quality patient outcomes
- Work collaboratively within the patient and family-centered care model
Schedule
- Pool position
- Night shift
Education Requirements
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with completion of at least the third year, OR
- Enrollment in an Associate Degree in Nursing program with completion of at least one year of the nursing curriculum
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting
