Nurse Extern Immersion- Telemetry

As a Nurse Extern Immersion in Telemetry, you will assist in providing basic and intermediate nursing care to assigned groups of patients in a telemetry unit. This immersive clinical experience is designed for nursing students entering their final clinical practicum rotation, offering hands-on exposure to patient care in a supportive hospital environment.

Clinical Setting

You will work within Mission Trail Baptist Hospital's General Nursing Units, which care for patients from age 15 years through adulthood. The telemetry specialty focuses on patients requiring cardiac monitoring and intermediate-level nursing interventions. You will work alongside clinically competent nursing staff who will mentor and guide your development.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and intermediate nursing care under supervision
• Assist with patient comfort and support during their healthcare journey
• Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Schedule

You must be able to work at least eight hours per pay period. Shifts are available in increments of 4, 8, 10, and 12 hours as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing, professional nursing (RN) program
• Entering your final clinical practicum rotation in nursing school
• Successfully completed a basic clinical skills lab
• Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire if not already held
