Nurse Extern II - Med Surg

Join DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital as a Nurse Extern II in Medical-Surgical nursing. In this PRN day shift position, you will work as part of the patient care services team under the supervision of a registered nurse, providing direct and indirect patient care to medical-surgical patients.

You will be assigned to an experienced RN each shift who will delegate tasks based on patient needs and your skills and abilities. The RN will instruct and mentor you in the clinical area and provide ongoing feedback.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Monitor and record vital signs
• Assist with patient ambulation
• Perform other duties within the scope of patient care technician or equivalent
• Report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the assigned RN

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program
• Able to apply starting 6 months before graduation
• Must pass all senior courses to remain in the program
