Nurse Extern II - Burn

Join DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan as a Nurse Extern II in our Burn specialty unit. In this patient care support role, you will provide essential assistance and comfort to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will work as part of the patient care services team, assisting with direct and indirect patient care activities tailored to the burn unit environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), vital signs, ambulation, and other patient care duties within the scope of a patient care technician or equivalent
• Report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the supervising registered nurse
• Work under the delegation and supervision of an assigned registered nurse each shift
• Receive instruction, mentoring, and ongoing feedback from the assigned RN in the clinical area

Required Qualifications

• Must be within 6 months before graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Must pass all senior courses to remain in the program

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) employment
• Day shift
