Job Description
Join Lovelace Women's Hospital as a Nurse Extern in our 53-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Albuquerque, NM. This is a variable shift, PRN position supporting our advanced neonatal care team, which includes a family care unit, an award-winning breast care center, and the state's first robotic surgery program recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical procedures as authorized under the direction of an RN and/or Nurse Manager
- Perform basic nursing assistant responsibilities
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with anticipated completion within 12 months from the date of hire
- One year of previous job-related experience
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant course
