Nurse Extern I - BMC Clinical Development

Vitruvian Health is seeking a Nurse Extern I to assist licensed nursing staff in providing patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This clinical development position offers hands-on experience working with patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations experiencing a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.

You will perform clinical rotation shifts across several different nursing areas, gaining in-depth knowledge of various nursing specialties while working alongside nurses and physicians. This role provides the opportunity to develop clinical skills through direct patient care and collaborative learning in an acute healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care
• Perform clinical rotations in multiple nursing specialty areas
• Work hands-on with patients under RN supervision
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians
• Operate within defined best practices of nursing

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in the final year of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR certification
• Basic typing and computer skills
• Telephone etiquette and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the same or similar position
• Background in a medical-related field
• Medical terminology knowledge

• Works in an acute healthcare setting
• Required to work a flexible schedule including weekends
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods
