Nurse Extern Fulltime MedSurg

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern to join our nursing team in a full-time capacity. As a Nurse Extern, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist the nursing staff in providing care across various patient populations while maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.

Clinical Setting

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is a 100-bed hospital serving Rutherford County, Tennessee, with a medical staff of approximately 500 physicians representing more than 45 specialties. The facility provides complete medical care for adults and children, including emergency, surgical, and numerous other services.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in your department
• Communicate pertinent patient information to appropriate individuals
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
• Document patient care information in appropriate computer systems
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for assigned patients
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited RN nursing program
• Can be considered for this position after completion of first nursing semester or as a CNA in first semester of RN program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current and maintained within timeframes required by hospital policy
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
