Nurse Extern - Emergency Department

Good Samaritan Hospital-Mt. Vernon is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Emergency Department. This is a variable shift position that provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a fast-paced acute care setting.

You will work under the direct supervision and guidance of an experienced RN preceptor who will provide personalized 1:1 clinical training and hands-on assistance throughout your role. This structured mentorship allows you to develop clinical skills while delivering individualized patient care consistent with each patient's plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN in a timely manner
• Make rounds and handle basic patient requests
• Perform patient and family assistance tasks as needed
• Seek and utilize feedback from the Clinical Leader/RN to identify opportunities for clinical performance improvement

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing
• Successfully completed one clinical nursing rotation
