Nurse Extern - Emergency Department

Join the Emergency Department at Henry Ford Rochester Hospital as a Nurse Extern and begin building your emergency care experience in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will provide patient-centered care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, working directly with a diverse patient population across the lifespan in a 30-bed Emergency Department that includes three resuscitation rooms. The department supports Level III Trauma, Primary Stroke Center, and STEMI care, treating patients arriving by both walk-in and EMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision
• Provide input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures
• Participate in continuing education to enhance your nursing skills and knowledge

Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Contingent position

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, OR currently enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program with completion of two clinical rotations
• Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of two clinical rotations, including one in Med/Surg (acute care setting)
• Current Health Care Provider Certification
