Nurse Extern CVMSICU

This Nurse Extern position in the Cardiovascular and Medical Intensive Care Unit (CVMSICU) at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is designed to provide nursing students with a structured learning opportunity to acquire basic clinical skills and advance their knowledge of patient care. You will work under the direct supervision of registered nurses, performing delegated basic patient care services while assisting patients with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe patient environment.

Clinical Setting

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's leading provider of advanced care, including a Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, and Pediatric Intensive Care. The health system serves a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated basic patient care services under RN supervision
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Maintain a safe patient environment
• Support clinical care delivery in the CVMSICU

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited registered nursing program
• Successfully completed at least one clinical semester of the core curriculum
• Active American Heart Association CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider card
• Ability to maintain flexible scheduling of at least 32 hours per month, including one weekend shift and one major holiday in summer and one major holiday in winter

Schedule

• Flexible scheduling based on unit need and colleague availability
• Minimum 32 hours per month required
• Must include one weekend shift per month
• Must include one major holiday shift in summer and one major holiday shift in winter
• Mandatory full-week hospital orientation (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) required before starting the position
