Nurse Extern - Cardiac Telemetry

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Nurse Extern for our 20-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit. In this role, you will provide patient-centered care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, supporting patients who require cardiac monitoring along with medical and surgical nursing care. This position offers nursing students the opportunity to advance their clinical skills while contributing directly to patient safety, comfort, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision
• Provide input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures
• Participate in continuing education to enhance nursing skills and knowledge

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, OR currently enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program with completion of two clinical rotations
• Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of two clinical rotations, including one in Med/Surg (acute care setting)
• Current Health Care Provider Certification

Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
