NP (Nurse Practitioner) Podiatry

This full-time, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity to provide specialized foot and ankle care within a supportive, patient-centered medical practice environment. As a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Podiatry, you will diagnose and treat a wide range of podiatric conditions, from routine foot care to complex chronic issues, while working collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

Clinical Setting

• Outpatient podiatry practice
• Patient volume: 15 patients per day
• Work independently with some supervision from podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, and primary care providers
• EMR system: Meditech

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with podiatric conditions, including foot and ankle disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical history
• Prescribe medications, orthotics, and other therapeutic interventions as appropriate
• Perform routine podiatric procedures, including nail avulsions, matrixectomy, injections (corticosteroid and local anesthetic), incision and drainage of abscesses, casting and splinting, and application of offloading devices
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory studies, to inform treatment decisions
• Educate patients on preventive foot care, wound prevention, and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with medical and regulatory standards
• Stay current with advances in podiatric medicine and evidence-based practices
• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population

Required Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in good standing
• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Associate-level experience (1-3 years) in a clinical setting, preferably in podiatry, family medicine, or a related specialty
• Strong knowledge of podiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment protocols
• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a healthcare team
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and standard medical documentation practices
• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Schedule

• 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift
• No on-call requirement
