Non-certified Patient Care Technician Night

AdventHealth is seeking a Non-certified Patient Care Technician for night shift work at our Port Charlotte facility. In this role, you will assist licensed nurses in delivering patient care by performing vital signs, documenting procedures in the electronic medical record, and supporting clinical operations according to hospital policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse
• Accurately perform and document vital signs in the electronic medical record
• Document and report all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure
• Function appropriately within scope during clinical emergencies
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities
• Support quality standards and initiatives
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines and demonstrate appropriate use of PPE
• Perform hand hygiene according to policy and enforce safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of applicable patient care technician experience
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) certification
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
