Non-Cert Patient Care Technician

AdventHealth is seeking a Non-Cert Patient Care Technician to assist in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse. In this full-time day shift role based in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, you will support clinical operations and direct patient care activities while working within your scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nurses in delivering patient care
• Accurately perform and document vital signs in the electronic medical record
• Document and report all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure
• Function appropriately within scope during clinical emergencies
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines and demonstrate appropriate use of PPE
• Perform hand hygiene according to policy and enforce safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities
• Support quality standards and initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of applicable patient care technician experience
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) certification
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification

Schedule and Compensation

• Full-time position
• Day shift
• Pay range: $16.26 to $26.02 per hour
