Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a per diem Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide after-hours cross-coverage for the Hospitalist Service. This is a night shift position supporting physicians and collaborating with consultants, nurses, case managers, and rehabilitation providers to deliver high-quality, efficient inpatient care. The position requires working at least one shift every 90 days to maintain active status.

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is a 178-bed Magnet-recognized facility located in Dover, New Hampshire, serving coastal Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine. The hospital is part of Mass General Brigham, a not-for-profit health care organization.
Schedule and Shifts
- Per diem employment type
- Night shift: 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM or 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM
- Minimum requirement: at least one shift every 90 days
- Onsite at 789 Central Avenue, Dover, NH
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care, counseling, and education to designated patient populations in inpatient settings
- Perform complete histories and physical examinations
- Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
- Order medications and write prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies
- Provide high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries
- Perform bedside procedures as appropriate to the patient population
- Support physicians and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
- May precept a small group of learners
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-NP) state license
- Minimum 1-2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience
- Inpatient medicine experience as an NP or PA

- Hourly pay range: $59.04 - $83.59
