Nocturnist Acute Care Nurse Practitioner In Austin, TX

TeamHealth is seeking a nocturnist acute care nurse practitioner to join St. David's Healthcare, a system of hospitals ranked among the nation's top-performing facilities. This role offers a collaborative environment with exceptional clinical support for overnight patient care.

Clinical Setting

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a comprehensive acute care facility built in 1982 and nationally recognized for its cardiac program. The facility features a fully renovated maternity unit with Level I and Level II nurseries, a 24/7 emergency department, and open ICUs with dedicated intensivist support. All facilities utilize Meditech EMR and foster a strong interdisciplinary team approach. An internal medicine residency program launched at St. David's Medical Center in 2026, further enhancing the academic and professional environment.

Schedule

• 7pm to 7am shift
• Average 4-7 admissions per night

Responsibilities

• Manage independent admissions
• Provide overnight cross-coverage of hospitalized patients
• Coordinate specialty consults and patient transfers as needed
• Care for mid to high acuity patients
• Work with onsite nocturnist physician support, dedicated intensivist teams, rapid response teams, and full specialty backup

Required Qualifications

• Acute care nurse practitioner certification
