Join our Acute Rehabilitation Hospital as a Registered Nurse on the night shift for a 13-week contract assignment. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients recovering from serious illness, injury, or surgery, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary rehabilitation environment.
Clinical Setting
This position is based in an Acute Rehabilitation Hospital where you will work with patients in recovery from acute medical events, surgical procedures, or traumatic injuries. You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to support patient progress and discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult rehabilitation patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to infection control standards
- Participate in handoff communication during shift changes
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (or compact license, if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- BLS certification
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently on night shift
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in acute rehabilitation, medical-surgical, neuro, ortho, or acute care settings
- ACLS certification, if applicable
Schedule
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts)
- Weekend and holiday rotation as required
Assignment Details
- 13-week contract with potential extension
- Open to local or travel RNs
