Join Rochester Regional Health's Adult Emergency Department as a New Graduate Registered Nurse in our specialized fellowship program designed for December 2026 RN graduates. This role offers a structured entry into one of the busiest emergency departments in New York State outside of New York City, providing you with hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical environment while building your foundational nursing skills.
The Adult ED Fellowship at Unity Hospital is available exclusively to recent nursing graduates and features a cohort-based orientation model. You will receive comprehensive Emergency Department training alongside additional opportunities to develop your nursing skillset through rotations in medical and surgical units. Frequent education sessions with Adult ED Fellowship leaders support your professional development throughout the program.
Unity Hospital's Emergency Department is a high-volume acute care setting where you will work alongside dedicated professionals committed to your success. The department serves a diverse patient population requiring rapid assessment, intervention, and collaborative care.
This is a moderate clinical role requiring continual movement including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching are required while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
