Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is hiring New Graduate Registered Nurses for full-time positions in acute care settings. This role is designed specifically for nurses completing or recently completing their RN education. You will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the guidance of an appointed preceptor during an 8 to 16 week orientation period.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of nursing practice
  • Assess patient conditions, plan care, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results, and abnormal findings
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
  • Direct and guide patient and family teaching
  • Supervise activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois RN license verified by the IDFPR website
  • BLS CPR certification through American Heart Association, current upon hire and maintained throughout employment
  • Completion of final semester of an accredited ADN, BSN, or MSN program within six months of program start, or graduation within the last six months

Certifications Required Within 30 Days of Hire

  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation
  • ACLS certification (maintain current)

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Day shift (7am - 7pm) or night shift (7pm - 7am)
  • Variable shift assignment

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with estimated range of $35.35 to $53.58 per hour
