Join Carolinas Medical Center's 7 Tower, a 36-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in transplant and urology care. As a New Graduate Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive patient care using evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards and policies. This role offers specialized training in peritoneal dialysis for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients and exposure to diverse surgical specialties including urology, kidney/liver/pancreas transplant, and gender affirming surgery. 7 Tower is part of Carolinas Medical Center Main, the Charlotte region's only Level 1 trauma center.
Clinical Setting
7 Tower is a 36-bed medical/surgical unit with a focus on surgery. The unit specializes in urology and kidney/liver/pancreas transplant procedures, as well as gender affirming surgery. Nurses on this unit receive specialized training in providing peritoneal dialysis to all ESRD patients within the hospital. The unit is part of Carolinas Medical Center Main, a Level 1 trauma center and Magnet-designated hospital serving as an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
- Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
- Use skilled communication to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment
- Contribute to the best patient experience across the continuum of care
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (Atrium Health is currently unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for this role)
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 36 hours per week
- 3, 12-hour night shifts per week
- Holiday and weekend rotation required
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour
- Base compensation determined by factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
- Premium pay for shift differentials and on-call duties
- Sign-on bonus available to applicants who have not received a sign-on bonus from the company for another role within the past 24 months
