The opportunity

Job Description

Join Carolinas Medical Center's 7 Tower, a 36-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in transplant and urology care. This position offers new graduate registered nurses the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment focused on kidney, liver, and pancreas transplantation, urology, peritoneal dialysis, and gender affirming surgery. As part of CMC Main, the Charlotte region's only Level 1 trauma center, you will provide comprehensive patient care using evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making.

Clinical Setting

7 Tower is a specialized unit within Carolinas Medical Center, a Magnet-designated, Level 1 trauma center and approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. The unit serves as an academic medical center teaching hospital providing residency training for physicians across multiple specialties. Nurses on 7 Tower receive specialized training in peritoneal dialysis care for all end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care delivery
  • Use skilled communication to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment
  • Contribute to the best patient experience across the continuum of care

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (employment visa sponsorship is not available for this role)
