Join Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center as a New Graduate Registered Nurse in the Surgical-Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU), a 29-bed specialized unit serving patients recovering from complex surgeries and life-threatening injuries. This role is ideal for newly licensed RNs seeking to launch their nursing career in a high-acuity, supportive environment.

Clinical Setting

The STICU provides specialized care for patients in the following areas: acute and emergent general surgery, surgical oncology, postpartum hemorrhage management, liver transplant recovery, and designated ICU services for the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center. Carolinas Medical Center is a Magnet-designated hospital and approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. The facility also serves as one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and optimize patient experience

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which you will practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (visa sponsorship is not available for this role)
