Join the 9A Stroke Neuro Telemetry Unit at Carolinas Medical Center, a 24-bed neurological telemetry unit specializing in adult and geriatric inpatient care. As a New Graduate Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive patient care to individuals with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, transient ischemic attacks, encephalopathy, and other complex neurological conditions. 9A is designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Care Unit by The Joint Commission and stands at the forefront of cutting-edge stroke management and neuro care.

This position offers the opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills including central line dressing changes, Foley catheter management, Dobhoff tube placement and care, tracheostomy care, and IV therapy. Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Use evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience
  • Demonstrate skilled and compassionate care while leading efforts across the continuum of care
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team

Clinical Setting

Carolinas Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for excellent patient care and medical expertise. CMC serves as the region's only Level 1 Trauma center, is Magnet-designated, and an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. The facility serves as one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (visa sponsorship is not available)

Schedule

  • Full-time position, 36 hours per week
  • 3, 12-hour night shifts per week
  • Holiday and weekend rotation required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour
  • Sign-on bonus available to applicants who have not received a sign-on bonus from the company for another role within the past 24 months
  • Base compensation determined by factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
