The opportunity

Job Description

Join Carolinas Medical Center's Satellite department as a New Graduate Registered Nurse. This role offers an excellent opportunity for newly licensed RNs to begin their nursing career in a supportive environment within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma center.

The Satellite department consists of 4 Med/Surg and Medical Telemetry units with a total of 34 beds. You will deliver safe, quality care to a diverse patient population experiencing a wide array of acute diagnoses, including chest pain, pneumonia, electrolyte imbalances, diabetes, cellulitis, trauma injuries, and mental health instabilities. Working within this setting, you will help alleviate pressure on the Emergency Department while optimizing patient flow and capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest patient environment
  • Communicate effectively and lead efforts to optimize patient experience across the continuum of care

Clinical Setting

Carolinas Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. The facility is distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for excellent patient care and medical expertise. CMC serves as the region's only Level 1 Trauma center, is Magnet-designated, and an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. The hospital also serves as one of North Carolina's 5 Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, providing residency training for more than 200 physicians in 15 specialties.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Schedule

  • Full-time position, 36 hours per week
  • 3, 12-hour night shifts per week
  • Holiday and weekend rotation required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour
  • Sign-on bonus available for applicants who have not received a sign-on bonus from the company for another role within the past 24 months
  • Base compensation determined by factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
