Join the 11T Integrated Enhanced Recovery (ERAS) GI Center of Excellence at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center as a New Graduate Registered Nurse. This specialized unit provides comprehensive care to patients with diseases of the liver, biliary tract, pancreas, and GI tract, as well as surgical trauma patients. You will care for patients throughout their entire hospital stay on one unit, allowing you to develop individualized care plans and build continuity with your patients.

The 11T unit is the country's first ERAS-certified unit, utilizing a research-based intensive approach to improving patient outcomes by integrating evidence-based pathways and guidelines into patient care. As part of this innovative team of physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners, and nurses, you will collaborate to drive compliance, research, quality, and publication while improving patient outcomes and operational excellence.

Clinical Setting

The nursing department is a specialized unit caring for patients with varying levels of acuity, including progressive care, telemetry, and medical-surgical status patients. Progressive care unit experience is not required. Carolinas Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC, distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for excellent patient care and medical expertise. CMC serves as the region's only Level 1 Trauma center, is Magnet-designated, and an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. The hospital also serves as one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest patient environment
  • Demonstrate skilled communication and compassionate care while leading efforts to improve patient experience across the continuum of care

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis
