Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital is seeking a New Graduate Registered Nurse for the LCH 5 Observation unit, a 16-bed mixed observation and short-stay inpatient floor. This role is ideal for newly licensed RNs beginning their nursing careers in a supportive pediatric environment.

Clinical Setting

LCH 5 Observation serves primarily surgical and procedural patients who typically stay 48-72 hours. The patient population includes children recovering from procedures such as appendectomy, cleft lip or palate repair, cardiac catheterization, and biopsies, with a diverse array of post-surgical diagnoses.

Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital is the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC with 247 beds. The hospital is Charlotte's only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and has been named a Best Children's Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 18 consecutive years. The hospital offers over 125 pediatric subspecialists across more than 30 specialties, including a 24-bed PICU, 20-bed Cardiac ICU, 85-bed Level IV NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation floor. Both Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital hold Magnet re-designation from The American Nurses Credentialing Center's Magnet Recognition Program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care delivery
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (Atrium Health is currently unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for this role)
