Atrium Health Stanly is seeking a New Graduate Registered Nurse for a 34-bed medical-surgical unit. This position offers new nurses a supportive environment to begin their nursing career with exposure to diverse patient populations and clinical experiences.
Clinical Setting
You will work on a fast-paced medical-surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 and HCT ratio of 1:8-12. The unit maintains an average daily census of 25 patients and features telemetry monitoring capabilities. Patient populations include general and orthopedic surgeries, wound care, and various medical diagnoses.
The unit is supported by unassigned team leads (charge nurse), an unassigned clinical supervisor, and a unit manager. The department emphasizes evidence-based practice, nursing autonomy, team engagement, and a collaborative learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
- Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Contribute to creating a safe patient environment and positive patient experience
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Schedule
- Three 12-hour day shifts per week
- Holiday rotation required
- Weekend rotation required
