New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Telemetry

Join Carolinas Medical Center's 10A Medical Telemetry Unit as a New Graduate Registered Nurse. This 24-bed unit provides 24-hour care to the adult population with acute medical and surgical conditions, including COPD, infectious disease, diabetes, pneumonia, and fluid/electrolyte imbalances. The unit features private rooms, with 16 rooms equipped with negative pressure capabilities. 10A has received the Heart of Nursing award recognizing the team's commitment to process improvement and quality and safety outcomes.

Clinical Setting

10A is a medical telemetry unit within Carolinas Medical Center, the flagship hospital of Atrium Health and the region's only Level 1 Trauma center. The facility is Magnet-designated and serves as an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. As one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, CMC provides residency training for over 200 physicians and serves as a regional campus for Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
• Perform nursing assessment and evaluation
• Manage airways and provide oxygen support
• Monitor telemetry and vital signs
• Administer intravenous therapy
• Implement infection control measures
• Manage fluid and electrolyte balance
• Administer medications
• Provide nutritional support
• Ensure patient safety and coordinate discharge planning
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (visa sponsorship is not available)

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 36 hours per week
• Three 12-hour shifts
• Weekend and holiday rotation
• Self-scheduling with fair rotation of shifts to cover department needs

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour
• Sign-on bonus available for applicants who have not received a sign-on bonus from the company for another role within the past 24 months
