Join the 11T Integrated Enhanced Recovery (ERAS) Unit at Carolinas Medical Center, the country's first ERAS-certified unit. This position offers new graduate registered nurses the opportunity to provide specialized care to patients with diseases of the liver, biliary tract, pancreas, and GI tract, as well as surgical trauma patients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners, and nurses dedicated to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based ERAS protocols. The unit cares for patients with varying levels of acuity, from progressive care and telemetry to medical-surgical status, all within a single unit setting that enables individualized, comprehensive care throughout the patient's hospital stay. Progressive care unit experience is not required.

Clinical Setting

Carolinas Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina, and serves as the region's only Level 1 Trauma center. The hospital is Magnet-designated, an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver, and serves as one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals. The 11T ERAS GI Center of Excellence collaborates with institutions nationally and internationally to advance patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients and the interdisciplinary team
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience
  • Support ERAS compliance, research, quality initiatives, and clinical advancement

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Schedule

  • Full-time position, 36 hours per week
  • Three 12-hour night shifts per week
  • Holiday and weekend rotation required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range: $38.20 to $57.30 per hour
  • Sign-on bonus available for applicants who have not received a sign-on bonus from the company for another role within the past 24 months
