New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Join the Emergency Department at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center as a New Graduate Registered Nurse. This position offers an excellent opportunity to launch your nursing career in a modern, fully renovated emergency department that serves over 48,000 patients annually. You will care for patients of all ages with diverse medical conditions in a state-of-the-art facility featuring 38 private treatment rooms, a dedicated behavioral health area, 8 flex chairs, and two large trauma rooms.

All new graduates participate in our Nurse Residency Program, providing structured support and mentorship as you transition into professional practice.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited academic nursing program
• RN state licensure or compact state licensure in the state or jurisdiction of the facility
• CPR certification (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross, required within 90 days
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Education

• If prepared at the associate degree level, you are required to enroll in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 12 months of hire and complete it within 4 years of hire

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited academic nursing program

Compensation

• Hiring range: $39.42 - $65.17 per hour
