Join Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center as a New Graduate Registered Nurse in our 19-bed Cardiac Inpatient Procedural Unit (6A). This position offers specialized training in cardiac care for patients undergoing procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab, electrophysiology lab, and operating room. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing complex cardiac therapies including drips, temporary pacemakers, arterial access sites, sheaths, and radial access bands. Clinical Setting
Carolinas Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for excellent patient care and medical expertise. The hospital serves as the region's only Level 1 Trauma center, is Magnet-designated, and an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. CMC also serves as one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, providing residency training for more than 200 physicians in 15 specialties and serves as a regional campus for Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest patient environment
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient experience across the continuum of care
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (Atrium Health is currently unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for this role)
