Join Leonard Morse Hospital's New Graduate RN program in Behavioral Health, where you will work with adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients facing mental health challenges. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team focused on mental health safety, stability, and empowerment, helping patients build healthy coping strategies, strength, positive thought processes, and problem-solving skills.

You will work alongside psychiatrists, medical nurse practitioners, RNs, social workers, mental health counselors, and human rights officers in a multidisciplinary care environment. Leonard Morse Hospital provides specialized training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) de-escalation techniques.

Program Overview

The New Graduate RN program is a comprehensive 12-month curriculum designed to create a solid foundation at the start of your nursing career. The program promotes learning through hands-on experience to help establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills for your transition from student to RN. You will have the opportunity to experience different shifts, patient populations, and unit cultures while developing delegation and priority-setting skills, holistic patient care through interdisciplinary communication, and valuable professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and competent patient care
  • Assess, plan, and implement direct nursing care to assigned patients
  • Assume responsibility for the supervision of staff to which nursing care is appropriately delegated

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from a state-approved or accredited school of nursing, or current enrollment in nursing school with a graduation date within the next 12 months
  • Current licensure, certification, or registration to practice as an RN as required by law, regulation, and state policy
  • CPR certification
