The opportunity

Job Description

Join the Age-Friendly Unit at Atrium Health Cabarrus as a New Graduate Registered Nurse. This position is sign-on bonus eligible. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to geriatric patients, typically age 65 and above, on a 28-bed specialized unit committed to the 4Ms framework—What Matters, Mentation, Medication, and Mobility.

Clinical Setting

Atrium Health Cabarrus is a 457-bed tertiary care facility and designated Level III Trauma Center serving Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, and surrounding counties. The Age-Friendly Unit specializes in medical-surgical care for geriatric patients, including conditions such as GI, respiratory, diabetes, cardiac, and infectious complications. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including an Exercise Physiologist, dedicated Geriatric Pharmacist, Geriatric Advanced Practice Providers, and a Gerontologist who participate in interdisciplinary rounds and provide specialized consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
  • Communicate effectively and lead efforts to create the safest patient environment
  • Contribute to the best patient experience across the continuum of care

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
