New Graduate Registered Nurse Emergency Department

MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is seeking a New Graduate Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Nurse Residency Program, starting February 22nd, 2027. This position offers new graduates the opportunity to develop clinical expertise in a 39-bed Emergency Department that handles urgent, emergent, and critical patient cases. You will work alongside highly skilled nurses committed to providing exceptional care and maintaining the highest standards of excellence and safety.

Clinical Setting

The Emergency Department is a vital part of the healthcare system. Our nurses collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for patients across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families
• Assess evolving patient conditions and identify actual and potential health concerns
• Develop appropriate care plans based on patient assessments
• Deliver interventions directly or coordinate care through collaboration with other members of the nursing team

Required Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing
• Active Maryland RN License or Active Compact State RN License
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or American Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Emergency Department Patient Care Tech (PCT) experience
• Previous Emergency Department Nurse Externship experience

Compensation

Hiring range: $36.50 - $43.77 per hour
