New Graduate Nurse - Registered Nurse (RN) Residency - Columbia County / Grovetown - All Specialties

Wellstar is hiring New Graduate Registered Nurses for a 12-month Nurse Residency Program (NRP) at the new Columbia County/Grovetown location, with positions starting in early 2027. This residency is designed specifically for nurses transitioning into their first RN role with less than 6 months of professional nursing experience.

As an RN Resident, you will complete a structured orientation program comprising system orientation, core nursing onboarding sessions, specialty onboarding sessions, and monthly NRP sessions. You will be supported by unit-based leaders, educators, NRP RN educators, site coordinators, and unit-based preceptors trained to facilitate your transition into professional practice.

Clinical Setting

You will work in various clinical specialties at the new Wellstar facility in Columbia County. The residency supports development across multiple service lines and specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to provide individualized patient care
• Provide patient and family-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity
• Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching
• Coordinate safe, quality patient care delivery and timely documentation
• Participate in interdisciplinary communication and rounds
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration with diverse healthcare team members
• Support performance improvement initiatives and research utilization
• Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required mandatory education
• Participate in data collection and evidence-based practice activities
• Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
• Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
• Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
• Uphold the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Code of Ethics Standards for Nurses

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Active Georgia RN license (single state) or RN Compact license (multi-state)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or BLS-Instructor certification
• Less than 1 year of RN experience
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a composed and respectful manner
• Excellent time management skills
• Evidence-based and analytical nursing practice with strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team
• Computer and data entry experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word with basic computer operational knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Experience with 3M systems
