New Graduate Nurse - Registered Nurse (RN) Residency - Columbia County / Grovetown - All Specialties

Wellstar is seeking New Graduate Registered Nurses for a 12-month Nurse Residency Program (NRP) at the new Wellstar location in Columbia County/Grovetown. This position is designed for nurses starting their first RN role in 2026, with an anticipated start date in late 2026. Interested candidates should include their graduation month and year on their resume.

The RN Resident will complete a structured orientation program comprising System Orientation, Core Nursing Onboarding Sessions, Specialty Onboarding Sessions, and monthly NRP sessions. You will be supported by Unit-Based Leaders, Educators, NRP RN educators, Site Coordinators, and Unit-Based Preceptors trained to facilitate your transition into professional practice.

Clinical Setting

This residency is available across all specialties at the new Columbia County location. You will work in a collaborative interprofessional environment focused on providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking
• Provide patient and family-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity
• Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching
• Coordinate safe, quality patient care delivery and timely documentation
• Participate in interdisciplinary communication and rounds
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration while practicing in a fiscally responsible manner
• Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required mandatory education
• Participate in performance improvement activities and shared governance
• Support evidence-based practice and nursing research initiatives
• Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
• Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
• Uphold the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree (Nurse) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Less than 1 year of RN experience
• Active Georgia RN license (single state) or RN Compact (multi-state) license upon hire
• BLS (Basic Life Support) or BLS-I (Basic Life Support - Instructor) certification upon hire
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with excellent customer service abilities
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a composed and respectful manner
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with various members of the healthcare team
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Computer/data entry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic and 3M experience

Schedule

Various shifts available. You must successfully complete the 12-month RN Residency in the unit in which you are hired.
