Neuro Interventional Radiologist - Division Chief

UMass Memorial Health and UMass Chan Medical School seek a Division Chief of Neurointerventional Radiology to lead clinical services and foster interdisciplinary collaboration in a regional comprehensive stroke center. This is an academic leadership position combining clinical practice, research direction, and faculty mentorship.

Clinical Setting

UMass Memorial Medical Center is the major academic teaching hospital for UMass Chan Medical School and serves as the regional comprehensive stroke center with American Heart & Stroke Association and The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval accreditations. The Neurointerventional Radiology (NIR) division currently includes three neurointerventional radiologists working collaboratively with two endovascular neurosurgeons. The division is supported by six dedicated Advanced Practice Providers and operates two dedicated Philips Bi-Plane angiography suites with access to a third suite as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration and expansion of joint clinical services between NIR and endovascular neurosurgery, optimizing patient outcomes and increasing patient access
• Manage neurointerventional procedures for acute stroke, intracranial aneurysms, and spinal vascular conditions
• Oversee approximately 700 diagnostic catheter angiograms, over 175 large and medium vessel thrombectomies, and over 165 endovascular treatments for intracranial aneurysms annually
• Direct approximately 100 spine interventions per year
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration with neurosurgery, neurology, emergency medicine, and critical care teams
• Work closely with the New England Center for Stroke Research (NECStR) to direct stroke and endovascular research initiatives
• Oversee a varied portfolio of clinical trials research
• Mentor faculty, residents, and fellows
• Promote research initiatives and contribute to the academic mission of UMMH and UMass Chan Medical School
• Manage administrative duties including strategic planning, budgeting, and faculty development
• Participate in stroke and neurovascular program leadership

Required Qualifications

• Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology
• Fellowship training in Neurointerventional Radiology
• At least 5 years of clinical and leadership experience
• Strong leadership and academic accomplishments in a multidisciplinary setting

Compensation

Hiring range: $650,000 - $700,000. Final offer may vary within this range based on candidate experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
