The opportunity

Job Description

ProHealth Care is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to manage critically ill neonatal patients in our NICU settings. This is a 1.0 FTE position with day/night rotation scheduling.

Clinical Setting

You will practice in two specialized settings: the newly implemented couplet care birthing unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and the Level 3 NICU at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Both facilities are part of ProHealth Care, one of the largest employers in Waukesha County.

Responsibilities

  • Manage critically ill neonatal patients using collaboration, consultation, and direct care
  • Practice independently as an NNP in the specialized NICU at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital
  • Collaborate with neonatologists at the Level 3 NICU at Waukesha Memorial Hospital
  • Maintain credentials with procedural privileges through the medical staff offices at both WMH and OMH
  • Maintain Neonatal NCC certification
  • Participate in multidisciplinary mortality and morbidity rounds
  • Participate in and coordinate research activities within the NICU as needed
  • Provide procedural support to the ED for newborn and infant code blue situations
  • Participate in ongoing education of nursing staff, residents, and students

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with the State of Wisconsin
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification upon hire
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to meet all necessary competencies within 6 months of hire

  • NICU experience
