Job Description

ProHealth Care is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with NICU experience to manage critically ill neonatal patients in a collaborative, consultative care model. This 0.9 FTE position offers the opportunity to practice at the top of your license across two settings: independent practice at the newly implemented couplet care birthing unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, and collaborative practice with neonatologists at the Level 3 NICU at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Clinical Setting

You will work in specialized neonatal intensive care units serving critically ill newborns. The role spans both a couplet care birthing unit and a Level 3 NICU, allowing you to manage a range of neonatal acuity levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage critically ill neonatal patients using collaboration, consultation, and direct care
  • Practice independently as an NNP or collaboratively as a PA with neonatologists
  • Maintain credentials and procedural privileges through the medical staff offices at both Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital
  • Maintain current Neonatal NCC certification
  • Participate in multidisciplinary mortality and morbidity rounds
  • Participate in and coordinate research activities within the NICU as needed
  • Provide procedural support to the Emergency Department for newborn and infant code blue situations
  • Contribute to the ongoing education of nursing staff, residents, and students

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with the State of Wisconsin
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification upon hire
  • Neonatal NCC certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to meet all necessary competencies within 6 months of hire

  • NICU experience
