The opportunity

Job Description

ProHealth Care is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to manage critically ill neonatal patients in our NICU settings. This 0.8 FTE position offers the opportunity to practice at the top of your license in a collaborative environment across two hospital locations.

Clinical Setting

You will work in specialized NICU environments at two ProHealth Care facilities. Neonatal Nurse Practitioners have independent practice opportunities at our newly implemented couplet care birthing unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. Physician Assistants and NNPs collaborate with neonatologists at our Level 3 NICU at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Both locations are in the Waukesha, Wisconsin area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage critically ill neonatal patients using collaboration, consultation, and direct care
  • Maintain credentials with procedural privileges through the medical staff offices at both WMH and OMH
  • Maintain Neonatal NCC certification
  • Participate in multidisciplinary mortality and morbidity rounds
  • Participate in and coordinate research activities within the NICU as needed
  • Provide procedural support to the ED for newborn and infant code blue situations
  • Contribute to the ongoing education of nursing staff, residents, and students

Schedule

  • Day/Night Rotation
  • 0.8 FTE

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with the State of Wisconsin
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification upon hire
  • Ability to meet all necessary competencies within 6 months of hire
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
