Mosaic Center High School Graduate Career Pathway – Patient Care Technician (FT) | Various Shifts

Join IU Health as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) and launch your healthcare career. In this full-time role, you will work alongside nurses and healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care and support in a hospital setting. You will assist patients with daily activities, monitor vital signs, maintain safe and comfortable patient environments, and communicate patient needs to the nursing team across multiple Indianapolis-area locations including Methodist Hospital, University Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children, North Hospital, West Hospital, and Fishers Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as eating, walking, and personal care
• Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Keep patient rooms clean, organized, and comfortable
• Support nurses with patient care activities
• Provide companionship and continuous observation when needed
• Assist with patient mobility and ensure patient safety
• Communicate patient needs or concerns to the nursing team

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Dependable and willing to learn
• Ability to stay focused and organized while caring for patients

Certifications and Training

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification will be provided as part of training
• Patient care training provided
