Mental Health - Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

The didgwalic Wellness Center is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to join an integrated care clinic that combines primary care, behavioral health, and opioid treatment services. Clinical Setting

The clinic integrates primary care, behavioral health, and opioid treatment services in one location, serving patients with serious mental illness, developmental disorders, and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medication assessments and crisis response for new and existing clients
• Develop individual service plans based on assessment data and provide therapeutic interventions
• Provide ongoing medication management services
• Offer consultation and health education to staff, caregivers, and clients regarding treatment and medication needs
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including patient service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, and treatment plan reviews in compliance with didgwalic Wellness Center, federal, and state standards
• Interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests including electrocardiograms (EKGs), renal functioning tests, and medication serum levels
• Prescribe psychotropic medications as permitted by state and federal regulations
• Provide medical services including history and physical examinations for the opioid treatment program and perform appropriate follow-up visits
• Monitor daily doses of Methadone, Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex), and other medications appropriate for opioid use disorder treatment
• Provide outpatient detoxification and treatment services for persons addicted to opioids
• Meet regularly with Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Program (SUDP) Counselors to identify and coordinate optimum treatment plans
• Collaborate with consulting Psychiatrists as necessary for complex patient scenarios
• Develop practice protocols for mental health problems based on review and evaluation of published research
• Provide general health counseling services under the supervision of the Associate Medical Director
• Monitor organization-wide performance improvement activities as a member of the clinic medical team
• Participate in staff meetings and consultations as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Medical Provider

Required Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in good standing with the state of Washington
• Knowledge of the etiology of serious mental illness, developmental disorders, and substance abuse disorders and their treatment through psychopharmacology, nursing practice, medical evaluation, and physical disease management
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality and interests, learning and motivation, psychological research methods, and assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
• Knowledge of community resources, networking techniques, and psychiatric and medical emergency stabilization
• Good empathy with strong personal and ethical boundaries
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment and understand the social and cultural context of patients
• Understanding of the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery
• Understanding of and adherence to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2)
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including conflict resolution
• Basic computer and software experience using MS Office products

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• Previous substance abuse treatment experience
• Previous primary care experience

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $167,100 to $188,300
